POULSBO — A fallen tree downed power lines on Bond Road near Pugh Road Wednesday afternoon, closing both lanes of Bond to traffic.

The incident occurred at 2:35 p.m., according to the state Transportation Department. The road was reopened at about 4:30 p.m.

North Kitsap Fire & Rescue was kept busy by the wind Wednesday. Crews responded to three wires-down calls in the morning: on Ponderosa Boulevard (Shorewoods/Hansville), Parcells Road (near Kingston) and Port Gamble Road (between Kingston and Poulsbo).

Puget Sound Energy reported that 20 separate power outages in Kitsap County had left about 1,800 customers without power Wednesday afternoon.

In addition, North Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews went to Foulweather Bluff near Hansville, where a boat, which appeared to be without power, was drifting north of the bluff. A Coast Guard helicopter and vessel also went to the scene.
