High winds expected in North Kitsap Monday night

Strong winds were expected in North Kitsap Monday night, following a day of heavy rain.

Gusts of up to 45 mph could sweep the Poulsbo and Kingston areas, according to the National Weather Service. A significant weather advisory was issued Monday evening.

Downed trees and power lines were already being reported at 5:30 p.m. Northbound State Route 3 was blocked by fallen trees near Imperial Way and near Clear Creek Road in Bremerton.

About 0.75 inches of rain fell in Poulsbo on Monday.
