Armstrong leading race for utility district commission

Longtime Kitsap Public Utility District Commissioner John Armstrong appeared poised for reelection as early general election results were released Tuesday evening.

The Hansville resident led opponent Linda Gabriel of Poulsbo 53.8 percent to 45.5 percent, with 44,862 votes counted. Armstrong has held the non-partisan District 1 seat for 18 years. This was the first year he had run opposed since 1992.
