Vikings baseball starts off rocky

Ambitions and determination aside, sometimes a sports season begins on a sour note. And the Vikings baseball team opened its season on such a note. With a horror story of walks and missed opportunities at the plate on Friday, the Vikes dropped its season opener against the Bainbridge Island Spartans, 7-6.

Bucs soccer kicks off season strong

KINGSTON — The Buccaneers soccer team kicked its season off with a message: We may be new, but we can play. On Saturday in their season opener the Bucs played last year’s top 2A Olympic League school, Sequim High School, and didn’t let the Wolves get a bite.

POULSBO — The North Kitsap kickers know how to dominate an opponent on the field. In a non-league home game Saturday against Bremerton’s Olympic Trojans the Vikings controlled the ball 60 percent of the contest. The Vikes waxed Olympic in shots on goal, posting 13 to the Trojans 4.
