The artist will be present during the First Friday Art Walk, from 6-8 p.m. May 7. A portion of sales will be donated to the Library Foundation. “Libraries have always been special places for me,” Van Berkom said in a press release. “As a farm girl in Minnesota, I used to go to the local library and let books transport me to the exotic places I dreamed of. Later, as a sailor traveling to those exotic places, curling up on my bunk with a novel brought me that comforting feeling of being home. When my sailing days were over, it was at the Olympic College’s Haselwood Library that I found a new home.”
