New North Kitsap School District superintendent decision could be made today

The North Kitsap School Board meets 6:30-8 p.m. in the district office board room, 18360 Caldart Ave. NE in Poulsbo, will “immediately move into Executive Session to further consider the qualifications of applicants for the position of Superintendent,” according to the agenda, and then will return to open session “and may consider action to offer the position of Superintendent.”

A man lost his temporary housing when a shed on a vacant lot was consumed by flames – thought to have been sparked by an unattended candle – Tuesday morning in the Gamblewood neighborhood between Kingston and Poulsbo.
Three Miller Bay homes hit with graffiti; one message obscene, another racially derogatory

Three homes in Miller Bay Estates were the targets of graffiti — two of them with racial or obscene messages — which has left residents upset. The homes, located in the neighborhoods off Beachwood Avenue, were all apparently tagged with the same dark green spray paint, according to a report from the Kitsap County Sheriff's Department.
Tibbs, Gelder rematch set; Simpson challenges Garrido for District 2 position

Chris Tibbs and Linda Simpson announced on Thursday their candidacies for the Kitsap County Commission, districts 1 and 2. The announcements were made at the meeting of the Republican Party’s 23rd Legislative District Committee at the Silverdale Community Center. Tibbs, who is seeking the District 1 position, and Simpson each spoke for about five minutes about their candidacies.
Harrison Medical Center threatened with Medicare termination

Following a complaint by a former patient, Harrison Medical Center may soon lose its participation in the Medicare program. A letter dated March 15 to Harrison CEO Scott Bosch, states the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) found the hospital failed to enforce policies to ensure compliance with the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act and failed to provide an appropriate medical screening examination.

Poffenroth pops eight to lead North Kitsap past Bethel | Girls lacrosse

Emilee Poffenroth scored eight goals to lead North Kitsap to its second win of the season with a 19-8 girls high school lacrosse victory over Bethel, Thursday at Strawberry Field in Poulsbo. North got out to a 12-4 start and systematically added seven more in the fourth to roll to the win.

Alice Shea, 91, a long-time Kingston resident, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, March 15, 2012. Her family emigrated from Poland to Canada. She spent her young adult life in Vancouver. She was a cat lover, avid skier, ice skater, hiker, and loved to make rugs.
