The cars were clocked at speeds of 20 mph or more. The fastest speed was about 28 mph.

Aug 30 2011, 4:24 PM If the two fire departments in North Kitsap don't act upon their shrinking budgets soon, the outcome could be catastrophic. During an efficiency study review Monday night, consultants from Emergency Services Consulting Inc. recommended North Kitsap Fire & Rescue and the Poulsbo Fire Department merge soon. Consultant Don Bivins said it is fortunate both departments have reserve funds, but those funds are not enough.

If successful, the purchase would preserve from development the land and two miles of waterfront on the west side of Port Gamble Bay, keep it available for public access, and free Pope Resources' Olympic Property Group to concentrate on making Port Gamble a more viable year-round destination.
Court dates near for six pranking suspects
Aug 31 2011, 4:24 PM Court dates are nearing for six people suspected in a night of pranking June 15, including two drive-by shootings with Airsoft rifles in Poulsbo and two fast-food thefts in Silverdale. Two teen minors are charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault and one count of third-degree theft. They were scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 1, 2:30 p.m., in juvenile court in Port Orchard. Four adults are charged with three counts of fourth-degree assault, one count of third-degree theft, and one count of third-degree attempted theft.
