Hollywood’s “Green Giant,” Ed Begley Jr., will celebrate sustainable living on Bainbridge Island on Tuesday, July 27.

The actor and environmentalist is in the region for a special event debuting at Town Hall in Seattle with Bainbridge Island Architect Matthew Coates. Before the event on Tuesday, Begley will stop at Real Foods, 764 Winslow Way E, for a book signing of “Ed Begley, Jr.’s Guide to Sustainable Living” from 4:45 - 5:15 p.m. The public is invited. Afterward, he’ll attend “Leading the way toward a sustainable future.” Tickets are $8, and a $3 discount is given to those who arrive via public transportation or bicycle.
