What's Up on the Port Orchard Artwalk, tonight.

While last month’s inaugural Port Orchard Waterfront Art Walk was a shining success, artwalk chair Paul Nuchims said he’s staying humble.

It was an inordinately sunny May day, he said, which is more than likely to have contributed to the mass amount of attendees taking in the sights along Bay Street that afternoon.

But whether they’re were coming just for the art or not, he said it was an incredible kick off.

“The artists, by and large, were ecstatic about the number of people who saw their work,” Nuchims noted.

Business owners with the Bay Street Merchants Association seem similarly enthusiastic about the event, which should continue to help generate foot traffic throughout the downtown core on each third Friday.

Some 30 businesses are slated to participate in the town’s second monthly walk tonight. Restaurants and taverns, a nail salon and a bike shop, the town baker and movie theater are among those that will feature local artists’ work from 4-7 p.m.
