BPA presents the inaugural off-broadway premiere of "Light in the Piazza" while Port Orchard gets its own art walk this weekend.

‘LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA’

Bainbridge Performing Arts presents the classic tale of the young impressionable American woman falling head over heels for a European while abroad in the not-so-classic play “Light in the Piazza.”

The show originally premiered at the Intiman Theater in Seattle before going to Broadway in 2005-2006 and garnering a slue of awards. Bainbridge Performing Arts is the first in the Northwest to stage the musical since Broadway, with shows starting at 7:30 p.m. tonight. It will run through May 24 at BPA, 200 Madison Ave. on Bainbridge. For tickets and more info, go to www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org or call the box office at (206) 842-8569.

PORT ORCHARD ART WALK

The Port Orchard Bay Street Merchants Association has organized a monthly waterfront art walk in downtown Port Orchard. Paul Nuchims of the POBSMA and the Manchester/A Big Idea Gallery is heading it up.

Artists work will be shown at venues throughout Bay Street every third Friday of the month, from 4-7 p.m. starting tonight. For more info, or to get involved, contact Nuchims at (360) 895-4270.
