Elsewhere in the Art World | The Winners' Circle at the Sidney
March 27, 2009 · Updated 1:10 PM
Indianola photographer Gavin Watt’s photography is matched with Mary McInnis’ paintings and pastels and Sharon Robertson’s watercolors for a menagerie of place in this month’s Winners Circle show, up through March 31 at the Sidney Museum and Art Gallery, 202 Sidney Ave. in Port Orchard.
Take a trip from the ocean shore of Bandon, Oregon through Watt's photography to McInnis' impressionistic beach house, Robertson's watercolored stalk of wheat to Watt's stunning portrait of plowed farmland in Colfax, WA, and wind up in 19th century Port Orchard in the Sidney's historic museum.
Next month in the art gallery, the Sidney will feature a collection of new works from painter Joan Sain with a reception slated for 2 p.m. April 19. Info: www.sidneymuseumandarts.com.
