WEEKEND WROCK | Come Live the Riot with CLR at the Charleston
Seattle punk proprietors CLR smash the Charleston with new album in tow,
the 80s are reborn in Port Orchard and the .357 String Band comes to Winterland.
CLR w/ Racked, Board Youth and 7 Year Old Blind Girl at 7 p.m. July 31 at the Charleston, 333 Callow Ave. in Bremerton. All ages, bar w/ ID, $5 cover.
A band of old school punks from the new generation, CLR has shared the stage with a host punk rock legends this past year, including MDC (at the Charleston earlier this spring), SubHumans, U.S. Bombs, Agent Orange and Dr. Know.
Later in September, after a West Coast tour in support of their new album “Come Live the Riot,” they’re slated to open for T.S.O.L at Studio Seven.
Thursday night at the Chuck, they headline a bill of young punk angst including Edmonds thrash band Racked, 7 Year Old Blind Girl and possibly Board Youth.
“What’s the matter with kids today,” CLR rants in the song “Can’t Stay Confined” off the new album. “Drugs sex and violence its all the same ... but in this town who’s to blame? This town’s full of lost dreams and dead faith.”
Need to blow off some steam? This is the show.

DECADE OF DECADENCE at 9 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Shipwreck Lounge at Slip 45, 715 Bay St. in Port Orchard. 21+, No cover.
If you ever get the hankering for a four-hour parade of hair metal and glam rock — Seattle band Decade of Decadence might have your fix.
Making its first appearance at Bay Street’s newest night spot — Slip 45 — Decade of Decadence will bring its string of 80s-lovin’ covers from the likes of Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Poison, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Motley Crüe ... the list goes on and on.
The four-piece, taking its name from the Motley Crüe song, revels in the time period when larger-than-life rock stars dominated the airwaves with arena rock anthems, power ballads and, of course, outrageous acid-washed denim and leather-clad images.

.357 STRING BAND w/ Dragstrip Riot and Total Wreck at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at Winterland, 1220 Sylvan Way in Bremerton. 21+, $5 cover.
Steeped in old school punk, outlaw country, Irish and Mountain madness, the .357 String Band are breaking open the Appalachian old school rock and roll genre to a new level in a new generation.
With mandolins and banjos, acoustic guitars and a stand-up bass, the Milwaukee band comes to Winterland this weekend to share the stage with some of their local contemporaries in that vein — 100 mph, straight-ahead rock and roll from Seattle’s Dragstrip Riot and wicked psychobilly from Bremerton band Total Wreck.
