POULSBO — Liberty Bay Books welcomes Kristin Hannah, who resides on Bainbridge Island, on her book tour for her latest novel, "Fly Away."

Hannah is a New York Times bestselling author of over 20 novels, one of which was set in Poulsbo and mentions Liberty Bay Books ("Home Front").

"Fly Away" is a follow up to Hannah's popular novel "Firefly Lane."

Her latest endeavor "became a novel about what happens when the one person who matters to you — the person who holds a whole family together — is lost," Hannah wrote on her blog (blog.kristinhannah.com). "The funny thing is that I should have known it all along. After all, I wrote "Firefly Lane" as a tribute to my mom, who died of breast cancer when I was young. In Kate [one of the characters], I found a way to remember my mom."

Hannah will be at the Sons of Norway, 18891 Front St. in Poulsbo, May 7 at 6 p.m. Food and drink will be provided.
