In addition to collaboration with orchestras worldwide, Berlin-based concert violinist Akemi Uchida has given solo recitals and performed at festivals across the globe.
Classical guitarist Michael LeFevre, current faculty at Cornish College of the Arts, won first prizes in the early 1990s at both the Portland and Northwest Guitar Festivals as well as at the International Guitar Congress.
Heâs considered one of the foremost classical guitarists of his generation; sheâs a masterâs-educated, highly esteemed and well-versed violin virtuoso.
The two will be in concert together, presenting an evening of classical and contemporary compositions May 23, surrounded by Sydni Sterlingâs exhibit of vibrant acrylic water lilies and koi fish in the show room of the Bremertonâs Collective Visions Gallery, 331 Pacific Ave.
The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.
It is the second-to-last edition of the 2007-2008 CVG gallery concert series which concludes June 20 with renaissance music for guitar and lute presented by Craig Alden Dell.
