Can you dig it?

Old ghosts and retro grooves will come to life next weekend as the local resident DJs of Gandhis Lounge throw the place into a musical time machine and set it on spin cycle.
Its gonna be radical, dude.
DJ Ink Drop will take it back to a slosh of totally awesome 80s-ness, flashy neon, Michael Jackson, maybe a bit of Billy Idol, and Tommy Tutone anyone? DJ JP will throw it down for the fly, but ever-fading 90s playing tracks from the seminal Yo! MTV Raps and reminiscing on monster mullets, Salt-N-Pepa, Sir-Mix-A-Lot and more.
Then, just as you think youll be hurdling through a time warp with no hope to return, DJ Kizzle will bring it all back to the future, spinning present-day top-40 and more.
Its a three-day event slated for Feb. 28 through March 1 called the Evolution of Sound. Its all going down at Gandhis Lounge, 9621 Mickelberry Road in Mariners Square.
Each night will feature a different decade: Ink Drops 80s Feb. 28, JPs 90s Feb. 29 and Kizzles future March 1. The party kicks off around 9 p.m. each night.
While Gandhis Restaurant has long been known in Kitsap for its scrumptious Indian cuisine with locations in both Bainbridge and Silverdale, Gandhis Lounge, the dim-lit side of the restaurant in Silverdale, is perhaps even better known for its parties.
We cant do as many live shows as we would like to do, but we still pack it out and everyone has a good time, said Bryan Whitaker, events and promotions guru for Gandhis. Being someone who likes to go out dancing and to events and stuff like that, honest to God, straight-out, I think we throw some of the best parties.
Every Friday and Saturday night, Gandhis house DJs spin dance music while the bar throws down drink specials. In addition the Lounge is also well known for its vigorous birthday parties and originally themed bashes like Christmas in July or the recent post-Valentines Day party.
The club seems to bring a big-city vibe to small town Silverdale, and on that note it has played host to and even produced some Seattle talent.
DJ Reaction, labeled one of Seattles mash-up kings, who also spins a bit for 92.5 Movin FM got his start at Gandhis, Whitaker said. And last year, Ghandis brought over DJ Dave Era, formerly Producer Dave of the Raizin Radio Show on the Monkey 104.9, also a spawn of Central Kitsap.
For Evolution of Sound, Gandhis will feature its newest on wax.
Those three nights are going to profile each of our different DJs, Whitaker said. They each have their own style, and each night it will be a different playlist.
Evolution of Sound will be a three-day trip through music of the past three decades featuring DJ Ink Drop spinning radical 80s Feb. 28, DJ JP mixing up the flyest of the 90s Feb. 29 and DJ Kizzle bringin it back to todays top-40 March 1. The party gets started around 9 p.m. each night at Ghandis Lounge, 9621 Mickelberry Road in Mariners Square in Silverdale. $5 cover after 10 p.m.
