Bainbridge Island will add another public trail to its forest this weekend.

At 10 a.m., Feb. 9 at the Battle Point Park Trailhead, Bainbridge Island Park and Recreation District planner Perry Barrett will be joined by Bainbridge Mayor Darlene Kordonowy, park district chair Ken DeWitt, park district commissioner Dave Shorett and more for the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the Forest to Sky trail.

Following the ceremony, the inaugural walk of the 1.2-mile trail will commence, ending at the Grand Forest parking area off of Miller Road. A shuttle will be available to take folks back to Battle Point.
