Weekend Rock

Portland “skunk” band Item 9—which mixes ska, punk and reggae—kicks off a special rock night at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, with the return of The Charleston Music Venue, 333 Callow Ave., Bremerton, along with STD, The Whorewoods, Grassroots Past Practice, We Can’t Surf and Juice. The following night at The Chuck, black-metal band Irony and Portland death-metal band Beyond the Red Horizon rock the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4.
Rock and roll band Woodies bring a mix of classic rock from 7-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Moondogs, Too, 714 Bay St., Port Orchard. Steppenwolf starts the night with special guest Michael Wilson, followed by Queensryche rock Moondogs from 7-11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 4. Children are allowed at Moondogs until 8 p.m. every night.
Michael Herschman plays saxophone from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3 at Silverdale’s Old Town Bistro, 3388 NW Byron St.. The next night Chris Switzer plays acoustic guitar from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Bistro.
A Blackberry Festival after-party will feature music by Boy Blue and the Moon along with special guest IG88, who will play a combination of rock, powerpop and trance at 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 4 at The Hi-Fidelity Lounge, 2711 6th St., Bremerton.
No shows have been scheduled for Labor Day Weekend at Winterland.
