NK Schools Foundation awards scholarships

The North Kitsap Schools Foundation awarded $6,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from North Kitsap and Kingston high schools last week. This year’s recipients included North Kitsap High’s Kelsey Moss and Felicia Young, who received Don L. Johnson Memorial Scholarships. Ten students received Alumni Scholarships. They were: Taylor Ottomano, Alexander Read, Kyle Paul, Lyssa Davis, Bernard (Joey) Patten and Marianna Wood of North Kitsap; and Gregor Uvila, Elle Sander, Blythe Leigh and Kyle Barnak of Kingston High. An additional $11,000 in renewal scholarships will also be distributed to previous North Kitsap School District graduates.

School district alumni and the foundation raise money for the Alumni Scholarships at the annual Alumni Scholarship Golf Tournament. This year the tournament will be Friday, Aug. 27 at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton.
