StandUp for Kids holds homeless awareness campaign | News brief

StandUp For Kids will host a special campaign to raise awareness of the plight of homeless kids. Called “48 Kitsap Youth Street Connect,” the event will be held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 24. at the Silverdale Waterfront Park.
The group’s mission is to help Kitsap’s homeless kids through volunteers, who go to the streets to find, stabilize and otherwise assist the youngsters in improving their lives.
Live music will be provided at the campaign event by Snakebite; Rottweiler Custom motorcycles will be on hand with motorcycles and T-shirts; CJ’s Evergreen General Store will be barbecuing hot dogs and hamburgers; and there will be resources and information booths available along with hygiene items, snack bags and some clothing items provided for kids free of charge.
This family event is free. Donations will gladly be accepted.
