Rural outreach meetings scheduled

The Kitsap County Department of Community Development will be hosting a series of Rural Outreach meetings in March in order to collect public comments on upcoming proposed rural programs and regulations.

The Port Orchard meeting will take place March 16 at the Long Lake Community Center. Other meetings scheduled are March 24 at the Seabeck Community Center and March 30 at the Port Gamble Pavilion.

All meetings take place between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Residents will have the opportunity to talk with county representatives from the Food and Farm Policy Council and county planners involved with Rural Code Development, the Rural Wooded Incentive Program, Limited Areas of More Intensive Rural Development (LAMIRD) creation, and amendments to the Rural Chapter of the Kitsap County Comprehensive Plan. Other representatives to be in attendance are United States Census Staff, and Olympic Property Group staff involved with the North Kitsap Legacy Partnership.
