School Brief: Kingston’s Avery Larson named National Merit finalist

Kingston High School’s Avery Larson was named this month as a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship competition. Larson became one of 16,000 national semifinalists last fall when she scored in the top one-half percent in the state on the PSAT exam. She is now one of 15,000 finalists in the country competing for a scholarship. Throughout the spring, 8,200 National Merit Scholars will be selected based on their skills, accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
