School district seeks public comment on new budget

The public is invited to talk with the North Kitsap School Board about the proposed 2009-10 district budget during Thursday's school board meeting. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the board room of the Student Support Services Building at 18360 Caldart Ave., Poulsbo. For more information, call (360) 779-8702.

PMS announces new student registration schedule

Students who are new to the North Kitsap School District and reside within the Poulsbo Middle School attendance area can register for school during July and August at 18360 Caldart Ave. NE in Poulsbo. Call (360) 779-8792 and ask for Jennifer Menne. Proof of residence and immunization records are required at time of registration. The PMS counseling office will also be open Aug. 24 for new student registration.

Join the adventure at Salmon Camp

Kids entering grades six through nine are invited to participate in Adventure Salmon Overnight Camp Aug. 11-14. Campers travel around the Hood Canal exploring nature and the critters that inhabit the canal. They learn about the influence of salmon on the cultures of the Northwest and have fun snorkeling, kayaking, tracking and playing games. NK Schools Foundation announces golf tourney

The North Kitsap Schools Foundation (NKSF) and alumni of North Kitsap schools will host their fifth annual scholarship golf tournament Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton. The tournament is open to the public and will be a four-player scramble format. The $125 price includes golf cart and dinner. Dinner will be available for non-players as well. CKA golf tournament seeking sponsors

Christ the King Academy in Poulsbo will host its third annual golf tournament fundraiser Sept. 18 at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton. The school is seeking sponsorships from area businesses to support the event. Contact Jessica Moon at jmoon77@wavecable.com for additional information.
