Summer high school opens its doors
The North Kitsap High School summer school program, for all students who attended grades nine through 12 during the 2008-2009 school year, will hold open registration Wednesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The program is designed for students who have either failed a course or wish to master skills in a previously taken course. Classes are Monday through Thursday from July 6-Aug. 6. Cost is $120 per .5 credit class or one class, and $220 per one-credit class or two classes. Additional course options include the Portable Assisted Study Sequence (PASS), which costs $150. For more information, contact Dawn Navarette at (360) 598-8522 or dnavarette@nkschools.org.
Register now for elementary summer school
The Extended Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) for K-5 students, and Extended School Year (ESY) special education program for preschool through fifth grade students begin July 6. Classes will be held at Vinland Elementary School in Poulsbo from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday from July 6-Aug. 6. Cost for ELOP is $235, or $275 for non-residents.
