West Sound Academy hosts open house

Interested families are invited to an Admissions Open House Thursday at 7 p.m. at West Sound Academy in Poulsbo. Faculty, staff and current parents and students will be available to give tours and discuss the school’s program of challenging academics and integrated arts. West Sound Academy, at 16571 Creative Drive NE in Poulsbo, is an independent school for 6th through 12th grades. Financial aid is available. BRATS take over Poulsbo McDonald's

Volunteers from Breidablik Elementary School will host a McTakeover Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Poulsbo McDonald's on Viking Way. Proceeds will benefit Breidablik's Rising Athletically Talented Students (BRATS) and the school's physical education department. During the McTakeover, Breidablik volunteers help to work at the restaurant, where supporters are invited to dine. McDonald's will contribute a percentage of the restaurant's sales for the two-hour period to the school.

"Cinderella's Glass Slipper" at the NK Auditorium

The Galletta School of Dance and Performing Arts will perform "Cinderella's Glass Slipper" April 17-19 at the North Kitsap Auditorium on Hostmark Street. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. April 17 and 18, and 1:30 p.m. April 19. Tickets are available at Liberty Bay Books, EHL Insurance and the Galletta School of Dance, located at 19351 Eighth Ave., Suite 100, Poulsbo. Cost is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for children 12 and under. The cast includes more than 80 performers from all over Kitsap, with the majority coming from North Kitsap schools.
