Sils is now a Navy midshipman at Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Tatiana Sils, daughter of Lee Martin of Poulsbo and Linda Sils of Bainbridge Island, is attending the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. She is a midshipman fourth class in the graduating class of 2017.

At her graduation in June from Bainbridge Island High School, Sils was recognized as a National Merit commended student, National Honor Society member, Wash-ington State Honors recipient, and acknowledged for completing 100-plus hours of community service.

She took the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for the Naval Academy and received her appointment from the academy superintendent in the spring prior to graduation.

She left for the academy June 26, with Induction Day and the oath of office ceremonies on June 26. She is in Plebe Summer training and will enter the Brigade of Midshipmen in August.

Sils is the granddaughter of Suzan and Jim Lee Martin of Poulsbo.
