COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Sam Byers, a 2012 Kingston High School graduate, reported to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado on June 27, Induction Day.

He was greeted by Cadet Second Class Travis Schriner, a 2010 Kingston High School graduate, who is starting his junior year at the academy.

While at Kingston High School, Byers and Schriner were standouts on the football field and in the classroom.

Schriner is majoring in computer engineering with a minor in computer science. Byers will be studying business management.

Both will attend fighter pilot training upon graduation, learning to fly the Air Force’s most advanced technical fighters. Byers will also play football for the Air Force Academy Falcons this fall.
