Poulsbo-NK Rotary awards $28,900 in scholarships

POULSBO — The Poulsbo-North Kitsap Rotary Club awarded $28,900 in scholarships to 15 Poulsbo-area students planning to attend four-year colleges, community colleges, and vocational schools.

These students were selected from 38 applicants following an application screening and interview.

Scholarship recipient, the institution they plan to attend, and the area of study:
— Ben Berkimer, Whitworth University, international business/finance.
— Maximilian Breitbarth, Claremont McKenna College, economics/finance.
— Reilly Brennan, Bellevue Community College, nursing.
— Brittney Brown, Western Washington University, biology/dentistry.
— Katherine Fossum, Olympic College, nurse practitioner.
— Kristin Holt, Seattle Pacific University, medicine.
— Juanitta Lang, Everett Community College, firefighting.
— Lydia Leach, Washington State University, zoology.
— Mencius Leonard, University of Washington, chemical engineering.
— AJ Milyard, Whitworth University, physical therapy.
— Michaela Myers, Seattle Pacific University, veterinary science.
— Alissa Neuman, Seattle University, political science.
— Maria Ramirez, Olympic College, nursing.
— Haley Tell, Tacoma Community College, ultrasound technician.
— Kaylin Weatherill, Pima Medical Institute, veterinary technician.

Applications for the 2014 scholarships will be available in January at www.poulsborotary.org.

Funds for the scholarships were raised at the Poulsbo Rotary’s annual Gala and Benefit Auction, the last Saturday of April.
