Six winners of local Bar Association essay contest

POULSBO  — Six students won awards in the Kitsap County Bar Association’s annual essay contest for middle and high school students. This contest is open to students throughout Kitsap, but this year’s contest was dominated by students from the north end of the county.

This year’s essay topic: “Realizing the Dream: Equality for All.” Students answered one of the two questions:
— What efforts can be done to combat discrimination that still exists today?
— Should legal entities (e.g. corporations, non-profit organizations, labor unions, political parties, and PAC’s) have the same constitutional rights as people?
