Aug. 20, 1942 - March 27, 2013. Veteran.

PORT HADLOCK — Oakey Keith Ball died peacefully at home March 27. He was 70.

He loved the water, fishing, hunting, camping, photography, and playing pool with friends. He was retired from Washington State Ferries after 30 years of service. Most of that time, he was an AB seaman on the Kingston run and a quartermaster on the Port Townsend run.

He is survived by two loving cats, Puss and Boots (he called them his “kids”); and a cousin, Fred Broderick of Seattle.

Oakey served in the Navy.

Cremation will be followed by an informal memorial service at a later date, as yet undetermined.
