Leona Wistrand | Passages

POULSBO — Leona Wistrand passed away peacefully Oct. 11, 2012, surrounded by her family.

Leona was born on Jan. 28, 1930, in Libby, Mont.Leona graduated from Highline High School in Burien, Wash., and attended the UW, where she studied business administration and met her husband, Alan Wistrand. They were married in the spring of 1951.

In 1956, Leona and Alan moved their family to the Poulsbo area, where Steven and Michael still reside. Her son Scott is raising his family in Battle Ground.

Leona had a long work history and Leona and Alan loved to travel and traveled all over the world. Leona’s love for travel turned into owning Poulsbo Travel and Tours in Poulsbo for 16 years.

Leona is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alan. Leona is survived by her sons, Steven, Michael and Scott; grandchildren Kevin, Jason, Amie, Kyle and Hannah; great-grandchildren Taylor, Kayla, Hailie; sisters, Roberta Wood (Theron), Doris Love, Dororthy Nesheim; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the fine staff at Harbor House and the wonderful people involved with the Franciscan Hospice group for their friendship and care of Leona.

There will be a celebration of her life on Oct. 27, 1 p.m. at Stone Chapel/Poulsbo Mortuary, 22272 Foss Road NE, Poulsbo. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Fishline, P.O. Box 1517, Poulsbo, WA 98370.
