Volunteers needed for preview events at new museum

SUQUAMISH — Volunteer at an upcoming preview of the new Suquamish Museum and tour the landmark before its official public opening.
Six volunteers are needed for two events, between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to prepare and decorate tables, monitor two compost/recycling stations and clean up afterward. Duties will be assigned as needed.
Volunteers will be able to tour the museum immediately following each event.
nSept. 8, 10 a.m.: Private preview for Tribal members and employees only. Estimated attendance: 250.
Following the program, there will be a picnic lunch catered by Central Market under a tent in the field across from the Tribal Center.
To volunteer, register no later than Saturday by email to Frances Malone, livinonwater2@yahoo.com. If you have any questions, call her at 779-5971.nSept. 14, 10 a.m.: Donor and dignitary preview. Estimated attendance: 200 to 250.
Following the program, a lunch catered by Kiana Lodge will be served beneath a tent in the field across from the Tribal Center. To volunteer, register no later than Monday by email to Janet Smoak, jsmoak@suquamish.nsn.us.
The new museum (www.SuquamishMuseum.org) is located on the corner of Suquamish Way and Division Street in Suquamish Village. It opens to the public on Sept. 15.
