CHENEY — Jerika Ferguson, 21, of Poulsbo, has been awarded the Roloff Government Scholarship for $1,100 for the 2012-13 academic year at Eastern Washington University.

This award is given to a female student who is a government major.

Ferguson graduated in 2009 from North Kitsap High School, where she participated in soccer for two years, was an athletic trainer for three years, and took part in environmental clubs and Interact (Rotary) Club.

At EWU, Ferguson has been involved in the women’s soccer club for three years, participates in ASEWU meetings, and works as a library assistant on campus. After graduation she would like to join the Peace Corps and use those life experiences in her hopeful career working for FEMA.
