POULSBO — Garvin Tootle, operations manager for North Kitsap Fishline, died June 26 at a Bremerton respite care facility. He had fought cancer for several years.

He was a retired Marine Corps officer, and was operations manager of Fishline during a period of growth in which the number of clients and amount of food distributed doubled.

“He was pretty mobile and able to lead a normal life until about a week before his death,” Fishline executive director Mary Nader said. “It’s a real loss and we’re still feeling it.”

Fishline will host a memorial fundraiser and celebration of his life, most likely on Aug. 25, Tootle’s 70th birthday.
