POULSBO — Our dear George passed away at the age of 67 June 11.
He was born Nov. 19, 1944 in Washington, D.C. to Carl and Betsy Schrader. His family moved west to California.
While George was in college, he enlisted with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After his term in the Navy, he moved to the Pacific Northwest and worked at Sub Base Bangor as a civilian electrician. This is where he met the love of his life Janice. They married and started their family. George was a long-time parishioner at St. Olaf’s in Poulsbo, was active with Knights of Columbus, altar server training, and served on the liturgy commission. George was known for his giving, passionate character, and willingness to help family, friends, and strangers all the same.
He was preceded into heaven by his parents and is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Scott, Karla, Christian and Michael; brother, Jan; and grandchildren, Anele, Calvin, Ainsley and Elijah.
Vigil June 15, 7 p.m., at St. Olaf’s Parish in Poulsbo. Service June 16, 11 am. The family invites the whole community to attend.
