Edith Droz | Passages

SCANDIA — Edith “Pauline” Droz, longtime resident of the Scandia community, died at her home June 10. She was 93.

Born June 19, 1918 to Paul and Maggie Vaughn Schwartz in Missouri. Married Dwight Droz in 1938, moved to Bremerton in 1942. Employed at PSNS 1942-1969.

They moved to Poulsbo in 1966, providing fresh produce from their garden, Scandia Patch. She entertained school children with educational presentations.

Served her family and church. Enjoyed writing early-morning letters of encouragement to loved ones and providing visitors with home-baked goods.

Survivors include her daughter, Deanna Thome; her son, Dennis Droz; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Dwight; daughter, Miriam Hope Droz Amos; and two stillborn infants.

Memorial service will be held at Breidablik Baptist Church, 239 NW Lofall Road, Poulsbo.
