POULSBO — Robert C. Dir passed away on May 31 in Poulsbo. He was 64.

Robert was born on Dec. 25, 1947 in Los Angeles. He was a resident of Bainbridge Island and had previously lived in Shoreline. He graduated from Chico State College and retired from the Housing Authority. He was currently employed part-time at Home Depot in Poulsbo.

Robert was a Vietnam Army veteran. He was always ready to help on any “special projects” dreamed up by his family, especially if he could use his truck to help haul stuff. He enjoyed family dinners, usually followed by the challenging board game of “Settlers of Catan.”

Robert especially enjoyed meeting with his brother, Dale, for weekly coffee and conversation. He will be remembered for his willingness to help others.

He is survived by his brother, Dale Dir (Billie) of Bainbridge Island; brother, William Dir (Jennifer) of Clarkson; sister-in-law, Jean Dir; several nieces, nephews and many loving friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marjorie Dir; and his brothers, Jay and Douglas Dir.

Memorial service is June 22, 12:30 p.m., at Island Church, 9624 Sportsman Club Road,  Bainbridge Island. Sign the online guest book at www.cookfamilyfuneralhome.com.
