Sound Works Job Center can help with benefits

POULSBO — Residents of North Kitsap may now apply for food stamps, unemployment and temporary assistance benefits in the Sound Works Job Center Poulsbo office.

The office, 780 Iverson St., is authorized to provide job referrals on the Bremerton Worksource employment computer site. Each of the services offered at the Poulsbo location are available to save on travel costs and time.

The office also offers the Washington state typing test without a fee, help with resumes and cover letters, employment counseling and a list with more than 1,200 jobs.

The job center specializes in helping residents prepare for obtaining civil service employment with local naval bases. All veterans who are applying for federal employment positions will receive a free computer thumb drive. For more information, call the job center, (360) 779-1160.
