Virginia M. Skinnell | Passages

POULSBO — Virginia M. Skinnell, 92, passed peacefully March 15 at Martha and Mary with family by her side.

Born in Prosser on Feb. 14, 1920 to Angelo and Celia Bethanis, raised in Pasco by Elmer and Mary Shelby, her adoptive parents.  Graduated from Pasco High in 1938 and shortly after married George Skinnell. They raised five children, Marylou Wanamaker Cole (Mike), George Skinnell (Sharron), Linda Remus (Larry), Judi Tefft, and Nancy Parrott (Greg).

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandsons, many nieces and nephews.  A homemaker. Volunteer at First Christian Church, Pasco Boat Association, Eagles Auxiliary, Pasco Senior Center. Enjoyed tending her garden, caring for elderly friends, shopping for collectables.

Pre-ceded in death by her husband in 2003, one grandson, and two great-granddaughters.  Moved to Martha and Mary in 2004. Private memorial will be held at a later date. Contributions preferred to Martha and Mary.
