Dolly Moore | Passages

POULSBO — Dolly (Adeline DeSanto) Moore, Dec. 16, 1917 — Jan. 20, 2012, daughter of Dominic and Giacinta (D’Amica) DeSanto, grew up in Seattle. Attended Rainier School, graduated in 1935 from Garfield High School. Attended Wilson’s Modern Business College, was employed by Angelino Merlino & Sons, Crane Supply, State Farm Insurance.

Married Bud (Fred) Moore in 1940, buying 15 acres by Lake Meridian near Kent. In 1968, they went into the orchard business in Wapato, growing apples, pears and apricots. Returned to Kent to build a home and later moved to Seattle where they were members of Christ the King Parish. They enjoyed gardening and traveling through Europe and Asia and occasionally to Reno.

Preceded in death by husband, Bud, in 2006; and son, Steve, in 1962. Survived by daughter, Mitzie (Marilyn) and son-in-law Bruce Goodrich; sister, Emily Helterline; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lived at Montclair Park Assisted Living and, at the time of her death, Martha & Mary. Mass was celebrated at St. Peter’s Mission Church in Suquamish Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. Graveside service Jan. 30, 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Kent. Directions to both locations and a guestbook are available at
