POULSBO — There will naturally be some great photo opportunities following a snow storm in North Kitsap. So late Wednesday morning I set off on an excursion to find people enjoying themselves in the — surprisingly — powdery snow.
Only one problem, I don't have a vehicle that gets around too well.
Setting off on foot, my first instinct told me to hike up Lincoln Road toward North Kitsap High School and the surrounding residential neighborhoods. It didn't take me long to find a group of four men building what looked to be a jump near the Poulsbo Adventist School. As I approached, a boarder launched off the jump, performing a board grab before landing on the snow-covered grass below.
A day of urban boarding had just begun for the four men when a large group of children and parents joined them on the hill for some sledding.
The two groups quickly merged and some of the sledders braved the snowboard jump, often taking a spill rather than landing gracefully.
This was just one of many scenes out in Poulsbo Wednesday. Do you have photos of your day out in the snow? Email them to rwalker@northkitsapherald.com.
