The Poulsbo American Legion Post 245, with cooperation from the City of Poulsbo and the Poulsbo Fire Department, is sponsoring the third annual “9/11 Freedom Walk” on Saturday, Sept. 11. The event will start at 10 a.m. when bells of local Poulsbo churches begin ringing. The event will start in the lower lot of the Poulsbo Parks and Recreation Building at 19540 Front St. and will end at the American Legion Park on Front Street, a half-mile, level walking route. The event will proceed through Poulsbo Place to the downtown area, then up to the Martha & Mary Nursing facility across from the American Legion Park.

This event has been identified as the only registered “Freedom Walk” in the state of Washington by the Department of Defense Public Affairs office on Sept. 11.
