Firms offer first-time home buyer classes

Windermere Real Estate/West Sound and Guild Mortgage Company, in conjunction with the Washington State Housing Finance Commission is offering a free first time home buyer education class Saturday at 11 a.m. at Montclair Park Assisted Living Center at 1250 NE Lincoln Rd. in Poulsbo.
The five hour class is required for first time home buyers to take advantage of state sponsored assistance programs.
Attendees will learn about the many programs available through state and county agencies to assist first time home buyers.
Also covered in the class are: the home buying process, lending and credit scores, budgeting, the pros and cons of home ownership, home inspections escrow and title insurance, agency law, the federal $8,000 tax credit and more.
