SUQUAMISH — The Suquamish Tribe submitted a county Shoreline Variance Permit application to replace the float at Kiana Lodge.

The county Hearing Examiner approved the application Nov. 29.

The Tribe proposes a 12-by-60 steel float with four 24-inch diameter steel piles secured to the sea floor.

Kiana Lodge is located at 14976 Sandy Hood Road in Suquamish. The area is zoned rural residential, but the shoreline designation is zoned semi-rural.
