Employers will visit OC aerospace training program
September 7, 2012 · Updated 11:41 AM
BREMERTON — On Tuesday, local manufacturing employers will review the aerospace training opportunities available through the Air Washington project at Olympic College.
The open house, at the West Sound Technical Skills Center, will highlight the programs which primarily benefitted from Air Washington grant funding this year: composites manufacturing technology, electronics, and manufacturing-precision machining. Employers will hear from faculty regarding program offerings, learn about manufacturing opportunities in the region, and tour the new manufacturing shop at the Skills Center.
The U.S. Department of Labor is providing $2.2 million over a three-year period to Olympic College to enhance aerospace training opportunities in the region. Contact Stephanie Thompson, (360) 475-7839 or sthompson2@olympic.edu.
