State disciplines local health care providers

OLYMPIA — The state Department of Health has taken disciplinary actions or withdrawn charges against the following health care providers in Kitsap:
— In June, the Dental Commission indefinitely suspended the credential of dental assistant Teresa Marie Brakefield (D1.60028485).
Brakefield committed prescription fraud to get unauthorized narcotics.
— In June, the Nursing Commission charged registered nurse Tarra D. Lawson (RN00137654) with unprofessional conduct. Lawson was convicted in 2011 of second-degree organized retail theft, possession of methamphetamine, delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent to manufacture or deliver, and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
— In June, the Chemical Dependency Professional Program ended the probation order against chemical dependency professional Krissy M. Remeto (CO60151888), also known as Krissy M. Murphy.
