CEO of Port Madison Enterprises named ‘Economic Development Champion of the Year’

Russell Steele, chief executive officer of Port Madison Enterprises, has been selected as the “Economic Development Champion of the Year” by the Kitsap Economic Development Alliance (KEDA).

The award, which is presented annually, was announced at KEDA’s annual meeting this past week.

Elliot Gregg, chairman of the KEDA Board of Directors, said Steele was selected in recognition of his long-standing support for economic development throughout Kitsap County.

“Russell has continuously contributed his time, leadership and resources in support of KEDA’s work, and we are very appreciative for all he has done.”

Steele has been a long-time director of KEDA and currently serves as treasurer.

Port Madison Enterprises is the business arm of the Suquamish Tribe.  Steele overseas operation of several business ventures under PME, including the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort; Kiana Lodge; vehicle fuel and retail outlets; Agate Pass Business Park; and the recently acquired White Horse Golf Course.
