About Us

The North Kitsap Herald has been the local news source for Poulsbo and the communities of North Kitsap since 1901. The Herald was founded that year as the Kitsap County Herald, and has never been late or missed an issue despite blizzards, a major earthquake, and wars. Now published each Friday, the Herald has a circulation of 12,700. The Herald also publishes NorthKitsapHerald.com, as well as special sections on various topics of local interest. Owned by Sound Publishing Co., the Herald's sister newspapers in Kitsap County are the Bainbridge Island Review, Bremerton Patriot, Central Kitsap Reporter, Kingston Community News, and Port Orchard Independent.
